SXSW 2024: Spotlight on Denmark and Singapore – Mobilizing Ecosystems Through Design

Today, OpenAI announced Sora model, capable of creating realistic and imaginative scenes from text instruction. Every day, we are advancing one step further in empowering people to visualize and bring to life their thoughts and imaginations through technology. It has become evident that among all individuals, those who can imagine freely and endlessly will shape and drive the narrative.

With this in mind, I highly recommend everyone join SXSW 2024, as the creative essence of SXSW is unique and twofold: melting disciplines without borders and diversity.

In my 5th year at SXSW, as a curator, I have aimed to shed light on diverse perspectives at a new level while exploring macro creative strategies crucial for building the narrative for the upcoming AI revolution and advancing the creative industries.

Departing from conventional narratives often centered around the USA, I have chosen to shift the spotlight towards smaller nations that are reshaping industries and fostering global innovation. Inspired by R. James Breiding‘s influential book ‘Too Small To Fail,’ I would like to highlight Denmark and Singapore – two rising stars with vibrant creative cultures and visionary leadership.

It is my privilege to welcome esteemed leaders Dawn Lim, Executive Director of DesignSingapore Council (Dsg), and Christina Melander, Director of the Danish Design Center (DDC) and President of The Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA). Together, we will examine how these innovative countries leverage design to mobile ecosystems to drive diversity, economic growth and technological advancement.

From architecture to digital design, fashion to craft, our panel promises to delve deep into the transformative power of design across diverse industries and pave the way to build a narrative for the upcoming AI revolution.

Please mark your calendars to join us for the ‘Denmark and Singapore: Mobilize Ecosystems Through Design‘ panel on March 10th at 4pm at SXSW 2024 in Austin, TX.
